Mr. Kenneth Mee is a Residential Counselor at STSG. He is originally from Cleveland, TN. Mr. Mee is a Gulf War Vet, he left Tennessee to join the Navy where he traveled the world; 7 countries in 4 years! He came to NC in 1996 and became a bail enforcement agent. After some time, Mr. Mee realized that being on the enforcement side of the criminal justice system wasn’t for him, he prefers the rehabilitation side. At one point, Mr. Mee ended up on the wrong side of the law and was in prison for 3 years, which was extremely challenging. While in Orange Correctional, he met Mr. William Elmore. From there, a lot changed. The two men got out of prison around the same time and began to speak at many places from classes to churches, about criminal justice reform. Mr. Elmore introduced Mr. Mee to Ms. Elmore, William’s mother and STSG’s Executive Director. That is how Mr. Mee came to work for STSG. It can be challenging work but he feels that with his background, he has a lot to offer the residents at the house. Mr. Mee became Peer Support qualified along with other certifications so he is able to do the best work in working with men once they have been released from prison. STSG is very happy to have Mr. Mee as part of the team!
